Virtual Mourning
Today we finished talking about the episode of Black Mirror. The woman finds an email in her mailbox that says her friend Sara has signed her up to a special software. Sara explains how it works: it feeds off the deceased's public posts and messages, and it will imitate the dead person. She even says it will become even more realistic if it's given access to private messages and emails.
She finally decides to try the software to tell someone she's pregnant. The reaction of the virtual Ash seems genuine (=authentic).

Le présent simple s'utilise pour les certitudes ou les énoncés dont la validité est permanente :

En utilisant l'aspect be + -ing, l'énonciateur réalise un effet de mise en scène. L'événement est perçu dans son déroulement, comme sur une scène de théâtre, ou bien est souligné et commenté par l'énonciateur pour marquer désapprobation, agacement, etc.

The Myth Of Robinson Crusoe Today we studied a picture together. At first we noticed a palm tree ( un palmier ) ; if there was a palm tree, the scene would probably take place on a tropical island. And if there was a tropical island and the topic was myths & heroes, then it could be about Robinson Crusoe. After that, we could see a man with a gun and a sword. He had strange, self-made clothes on. He could be hunting ; he also looked like a settler. Finally, we understood he had another man under his foot. Idea Of Progress 6

Launching the Mro  Today we watched another document about the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. We understood that the satellite couldn't respond immediately ; it had a 12 minute delay. there were a lot of engineers and scientists to design this. They came from all over the world (the H1B helps, this is the genius visa).  We also noticed that the MRO had to burn a booster to slow down and be attracted by the gravitation of Mars.
