The Goliath Effect

Today we scanned a document, a journal article written by Gary Alan Fine. It was about McDonald's urban legends, and about other big brands ; indeed, there's a thing called the Goliath effect, we're not sure, but we think it's when you talk about big companies, that's why their legends are spread more than with little companies.
There's a story that claims McDonald's use worms in their burgers. It talks about Coke too.

indeed = en effet
a brand = une marque
to claim = prétendre
to pretend = faire semblant
an ad (advertisement) = publicité
